I just wanted to take a few moments to thank all of you for a great learning experience! I will never be able to look at a robot again without thinking of all of you! :-p A special thank-you to Maha and Louise for treating us to such a feast! I'm going to miss you, and I hope that our paths will cross again soon. Wishing you all a happy holiday season!

I have posted the information below about the computer equipment drop-off this Friday:
Computer Equipment/Donations Drop-Off
and Volunteer
Sign-up Table
for the Inner City Kids' Computer Club
& Basketballs for Inner City Kids
Friday December 9, 11:30am - 1:30pm
*** Front of Bookstore, Brodie Centre ***
Come out and lend a hand to a couple of all-volunteer projects
operated by staff at the Bannatyne campus.
1) The Inner City Kids' Computer Club will be collecting used
computer equipment for donation to organizations including IRCOM (Immigrant and
Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba) for use by families/children
participating in the Club. Desktop and laptop PCs (up to 4-5 years old),
LCD-style monitors, keyboards and mice will gladly be accepted. Equipment
in working order only please. PCs need to have Windows licence certification
stickers. Charity donation request letters can be provided for asset
disposal of UM equipment.
2) Basketballs for Inner City Kids will be accepting cash
donations to help with the purchase of basketballs. Since starting in
2006, the project has distributed over 2,000 basketballs, primarily during June
to all graduating students in the twelve inner city K-6 schools. Funds
collected will be used to pay off bills from last summer and to start on next
spring's basketball purchases.
Volunteers are also needed to:
- prepare and deliver computer equipment to IRCOM before
the holiday break
- serve as mentors in the Computer Club during Feb-April
- help with promoting/fundraising for Basketballs for Inner
City Kids
- assist with basketball distribution/possible inner city
basketball events in spring/summer 2012
